Building Envelope Commissioning (BECx)
A building is a system of systems and the envelope or façade is arguably the most important and impactful system, determining building performance. Consequently, building envelope commissioning has become an important part of the commissioning process.
Building envelope commissioning (BECx) is the planning and execution of the environmental separation between the interior and exterior of a building. It’s a quality-based process that seeks to ensure that a building envelope meets specified requirements. The process is carried out by qualified consultants, engineers and similar specialists in conjunction with the project team.
