Abu Dhabi Island Resort

Back

A state-of-the-art luxury hotel resort will be developed offshore in Abu Dhabi offering Maldives-themed overwater villas and VIP residential housing units. Covering a total of 30,000 square meters, the existing island will be reclaimed to support the project design and aims to incorporate self-sustaining processes such as the provision of solar panels for energy as well as an on-site desalination plant, sewerage treatment plant, and waste treatment facilities

Additionally, AESG provided a comprehensive master-plan strategy for the waste management of the hotel. In order to minimize the amount of waste shipments off the island, AESG has assessed the feasibility for segregation and treatment of waste streams at source, in particular for recyclables, as well as organic wastes which can be composted into fertilizer.
