Desalination Plants

Back

AESG is working on environmental permitting for two desalination plants being constructed within a plot in Abu Dhabi. The plants are being designed and constructed to serve irrigation demand and will have a total capacity of 4,500 m3/day on a plot area of 1,250 sqm. The plants are expected to be operational in 2019.

AESG was appointed by the client to conduct environmental permitting assessments. The scope of work consisted of a detailed site survey, desktop research, and identification of appropriate impacts and mitigation measures. Given the nature of the project, detailed hydrodynamic modeling, brine dispersion modeling, and a marine ecology survey were emphasized in order to analyze the impact on the project on the adjacent marine environment.
