DEWA is developing a multi-billion dirham hydropower plant in Hatta, Dubai, the first for the region. The plant has a planned capacity of 250MW and the construction of the project will include deep-water tunnels, reservoirs, the main power station, as well as turbines for power generation. The output electricity will be connected to the main grid and is part of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.
