Amer is a Canadian Professional Licensed Engineer holding a Masters of Civil Engineer (concentration in Fire Safety) from Carleton University, Canada. Amer is an Associate Consultant in Riyadh, KSA, and is also a FLS Line Manager. Amer has extensive experience in fire & life safety across Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Canada, and the United States.

 His career spans roles with Nuclear Electrical Power Stations as a Fire Prevention Officer, a Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer with other consultants, and also acting as the Authority Having Jurisdiction in Canadian Nuclear facilities. Amer has delivered landmark projects globally including the Fire and Life Safety Guideline in AlUla, Marriott Development in Canada and USA, Fire Hazard Assessments for Nuclear Stations, FLS Strategies for Canadian government sites.

 He is also skilled in masterplan reviews, building compliance reviews, fire hazard assessments, fire prevention program development, fire protection program audits for large facilities and construction sites, egress analysis, and performance-based design where he currently is a voting member in the upcoming SFPE Performance-Based Design Standard. Furthermore, Amer actively contributes to various FLS committees (NFPA, ISO, SFPE, and CSA) and has worked on projects that require expertise in building and fire codes, including global standards like the Saudi Building Code, IBC, NFPA 1/101, and the National Building Code of Canada.
