Senior Public Health Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Public Health Engineer who will be a part of our Building Services team and will be responsible for designing, managing, and delivering public
health systems for buildings and infrastructure projects. This includes developing systems for water supply, drainage, sanitation, and waste management while ensuring compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and sustainability goals. This role will be based in Cairo, Egypt.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical / Building services engineering or a related field (Masters degree in Engineering is an added advantage).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in public health engineering, with a track record of delivering high-quality designs and installations.
  • Experience with building services or infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design/drafting software for accurate production of design deliverables.
  • Knowledge of international and local codes/standards such as BS EN, CIBSE, NFPA, IOP, IPC, UPC, IGBC, ASHRAE, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, IFGC, ADM, and other authority regulations.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing authority submissions for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and KSA projects, but not limited to these regions.
  • Familiar with hydraulic modelling and analysis software for system sizing and performance checks.
  • Awareness of sustainability frameworks such as LEED, WELL, and Estidama; certification in green building systems is a plus.
  • Skilled in preparing design calculations, drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Design public health systems for water supply, drainage, rainwater harvesting, and waste management for buildings and infrastructure projects.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and environmental
    sustainability requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate public health systems into overall project designs.
  • Coordinate with contractors during the construction phase to ensure proper installation and commissioning of systems.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for regulatory approvals and inspections.
  • Incorporate sustainable solutions such as water-saving technologies, greywater
    recycling, and energy-efficient systems into designs.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative technologies to enhance system efficiency and environmental performance.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to resolve issues during design, installation, and maintenance phases.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide recommendations to ensure project quality and compliance.
