AESG launched its office in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in early 2018 to strengthen the delivery of our services within KSA in line with the region’s expansion plans, and since then we have had the privilege of working on numerous projects in the Kingdom. Our work on major development projects, including the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), NEOM, Diriyah Gate, Amaala and the Red Sea, has led to an in-depth understanding of the unique natural environment and cultural history within the Kingdom, which we aim to preserve and enhance through our consultancy, engineering and advisory offering.
As a world leading specialist consultancy firm, and as industry leaders within sustainable development, AESG are actively involved in the planning and design of a number of smart cities and masterplans throughout the MENA region, especially within KSA. Our services include both strategic advisory, supporting the development of sustainability strategies and governance frameworks, as well as sustainable urban planning and design.
With our multidisciplinary approach that covers services from energy and sustainable development to fire life safety, fire engineering, facades design and engineering, acoustics, waste engineering, environment and commissioning, we are able to offer clients a holistic approach that supports the development of smart and sustainable cities. Through our presence in Saudi Arabia we utilise our team’s international experience and apply a best practice approach to projects in the region. We aim to utilise this extensive experience and expertise to further promote the ambitions of the Kingdom, including the application of smart city principles, sustainable development goals and improved quality of life.
Further, as signatories to the WorldGBC’s advancing net zero buildings commitment, we have pledged to support the built environment in reducing carbon emissions to net zero across our project portfolio in the Middle East, Asia and Europe by 2030. In order to advance the uptake of a sustainable built environment, we have launched our ‘Pathway to Net Zero’ that will be applied to all of our design projects. We hope that in providing a pathway to net zero on all our projects, we will be able to stimulate the transition to smart, sustainable cities across the world and reduce overall carbon emission.
By clearly outlining targets across various sectors such as the built environment, waste management, energy efficiency and the use of resources, the vision set by Saudi government provides a clear roadmap for economic development plans within the kingdom. We can see that the concepts of sustainability and resource efficiency are deeply embedded within the NTP 2020 and this aligns very strongly with our core competencies as a firm.
AESG has already worked on several project in the Kingdom in the private and public sector, including government entities such as the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The consultancy has offered environmental and sustainability assessment services for large scale masterplan developments, fire and life safety consultancy services for retail and residential developments, as well as façade engineering services for a number of high-rise buildings in Riyadh.
Our objective in the Saudi Arabia region and our key strength is to work alongside clients when they are faced with their greatest challenges. This has been the blueprint we have adopted in KSA and it has proven successful to date. We are committed to investing in the Saudi market and our goal is to support the Kingdom in achieving its NTP 2020 and Vision 2030 objectives.
